Day 1 of “Keeping it Real” – Chores

Lets Talk chores shall we? What is the one thing that you don’t like doing but you know you have to or else it wont get done?

There are 2 chores in our House that I “Dislike” very much:

LAUNDRY

-The Folding and putting away part…

DISHES

-Does it ever End? To me it just multiplies every time I turn around… Aah!

Luckily hubby and I decided to compromise and work together on this, He does the Laundry & I do the Dishes. {Its going OK so far}

If we are having a super busy week this is what our mess looks like:

Haha – Our laundry pile isn’t this big but, sometimes it sure feels like it my friends!

{Completed Challenge} Color Me Rad 5k

Over the weekend I was able to Cross off a {Challenge} on my Bucket List…

The Race was so much fun!!! I went in not knowing what to expect and boy! Was I in for an amazing experience!

When I registered for Breathing Space Retreat I was excited to find out that Color Me Rad was one of the sponsors and that I got an entry for free… As I mentioned before, I’m not a runner! Never been… But, I was willing to at least try. I was even more excited to cross off #27 on my bucket list!!

  • Color BOMB
  • Like Skittles? Well you definitely get to taste the rainbow! {hehe}
  • Chalk in your face
  • Fun atmosphere
  • Dancing, walking and a {some running}
  • SUPER RAD
  • Incredible energy
  • Cool Sunglasses & T-shirt

That pretty much sums it up,All I can say is thank you to super awesome organizers and volunteers! That was amazing and I cant wait to do it all over again next year!

{Fashion} What I wore & Modesty

I haven’t done an outfit post in a little while… But, as you all know I have been so busy that I have had no time to actually take outfit photos {No fun}. Things are finally back to normal and I have missed it! without further ado here is what I wore for Easter:

Dress : Pacsun , undershirt: Downeast,  Neckalce & Leggins : F21 , Shoes {?}, Headband : My cute sis made it!!!

As some of you know I have been working on posts about my faith… to be honest it has been quite challenging and I haven’t found the right words to put into a post… So bear with me and I hope to soon come here and have a post on this topic alone. Back to modesty:
I’m going to be very honest with you right now, I grew up catholic and modesty wasn’t really something that we were taught… Sure we would wear our Sunday best on Sundays {which were need length dresses and such} but, any other days you would catch me in tank tops and short shorts. Why am I telling you this?
I’m a Mormon now and I strive everyday to look my best and dress as modest as I can…  But, when I was going thru the transition stage of catholic-Mormon {As in the missionaries were teaching me about the LDS church} All I had was thank tops and shirts {I was very poor at the time so we didn’t have any money for clothes}. I would walk in to the Church for an YM activity and never once I was judged by what I was wearing, they were always so welcoming with open arms! That taught me a lesson, not to Judge anyone no matter what! You truly don’t know what is going on with them, for all you know that person is wearing hand me downs or wearing the same shirt that she has had for 5 years but again no money to buy something new. Again, I am no saint! Unfortunately I have judged people before… In what is that boy wearing a super big shirt with tiny pants? or why that girl wearing a short skirt? How about this one: Why is her hair dyed pink is she is going to church? {We have all been there} The lesson I want anyone to take from this is  that we shouldn’t judge anyone, you never know what could happen to you tomorrow…
Why am I rambling on and on? Well, there are always ways to make an outfit that is not technically modest look modest {Think layers my friends}
And that is what I did with my dress above, most people would just wear the blue dress and no leggings or any anything {That is totally fine} but, I wanted you guys to see that there is always options available for you. You don’t have to cover you body from head to toe to be modest.

Changes…

Things have been a little funky over here.. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been in the process of transferring my blog to WordPress and it is finally done! so yay! Plain Jane…

I used to take risks when choosing my outfit choices before I was a mom… As in high heels, bright colors, mismatched, matched outfits! I did it all :)

Such a Plain Jane:

Then, for some reason it all stopped… since staying at home all day and not really having to get dressed up I felt like I chose being safe and comfy was a better option then taking risks! No sure why my friends? 

Well, I’m tired of looking at the same “Safe Outfits” so for this month I challenge myself to take risks when it comes to outfit choices.

1. Find dresses and Skirts! I always have a hard time finding the ones that aren’t plain color…

2. Shop at my already favorite Stores! I Usually shop at the mall my friends and I get the best deals… I would like to point out that yes indeed I can find super cute Modest Outfits at the mall! Even if I find a tank top or sleeve less dress I can always layer them :) .

3. Thrift shop and Refashion my own clothing. That is one my main Challenges for this month! Abbie from Secondhand or Bare Bottom is a great example { her whole outfit is from goodwill}:

A much needed break…

Hey There Lovelies! things have been a bit quiet around here… I worked so much this past week.. It was a bit crazy, as in one of the days after work there was “Sideways Snow Blizzard” going on. Yikes!!

Anyways, I’m currently having a girls weekend with my mom,sis & aunt! Soaking up the sun and eating delicious food… Just relaxing before going back to “real life”

My Journal…

Growing up as a creative little girl, You could always find me trying to write down my thoughts on a blank piece of paper. I wrote about the future, my goals, I made “Fruit Collages”, I drew and decoupaged pretty things, talked about my life and so on…
Receiving my first Journal from my mom was only natural {the obvious step as I was pretty much loosing my papers everywhere}.
I have to thank my mom, as she started it all! My addiction to writing my thoughts down, to expressing my feelings, to think of creative and outside of the box things… Should I mention that I own about 10 or so Full journals?
Fast forward to this weekend… While going thru a box of old things I found a Journal from 9 years ago:
It was so much fun! To think about the past and to read my writing, and see what I was like back then. Don’t you worry I have decided to write little bits and pieces from my journals on here soon…  {Trust me, It is too funny}
Here are a couple of things I realized:
  • I miss Writing my thoughts down instead of typing.
  • I Was a funny girl and I Basicaly told my journal how it was! {Kept it real}
  • I NEED to go find me a journal… I know that technicaly this blog is my journal but, it is not the same as there are things that I would be to embarrased to share on here or they are too private. lol
  • I think that I need to read all of them again and find interesting facts, and funny things to share with all of you guys :)
  • My Kids will truly enjoy my nloh and journal… { or atleast I hope so}
  • The journals are going to be extremely helpful when I work on my “Love Story” , Hubby and I have been literally LOL over some of the converstions with had. And guess what? I saved every single paper.
  • Finding a cheap journal needs to be my top priority for this week!
Finishing up with our Family tradition of Sunday Pics:
Dang Sun! Was totally in the way… lol
